How can I start using App Annie to track my apps?
First register an account, then go to the My Apps page and follow the instructions there.
Why can't I sync my iTunes Connect account?
Either the username or password are incorrect, or the account you provided doesn't have sufficient rights. If the account you provided is new, you might also need to confirm it first. Try logging in to iTunes Connect from within your browser and make sure the sales reports are accessible.
Why aren't all of my apps showing up on the "My Apps" list?
App Annie only discovers apps when it reads an iTunes Connect sales report where that app has downloads or upgrades. If an app hasn't been published yet, or hasn't had any downloads, it won't display.
I just linked my iTunes Connect account. Why are not all my sales in App Annie now?
iTunes Connect only stores the last 14 days of daily sales reports for your apps, plus the last 13 weeks of aggregated weekly data. App Annie will import all the available daily and weekly data. If you have older reports, you can upload them manually.
Are promos included in download figures?
Yes, download figures include the promo units listed.
How does App Annie handle currency conversion?
Currencies are converted to US dollars using conversion rates updated daily. As of now most reports on App Annie default to USD display, but we're working on the ability to select a preferred currency.
Why do my sales reports in App Annie not exactly match my financial reports in iTunes Connect?
App Annie fetches the sales data from the iTunes Connect "Sales and Trends" section. There are a few reasons why the sales data doesn't match Apple's "Financial Reports" and the amount of money you receive from Apple.
Fiscal calendar. Apple uses fiscal months rather than calendar months for payouts. To see Apple's fiscal calendar, go to "Payments and Financial Reports" and click the "Fiscal Calendar" link. For example, fiscal March 2011 starts on Feb. 27 and ends on Mar. 26.
Clearing of payments. What matters in the case of financial reports is what payments were made during a fiscal month, not how many downloads were made. Since most people use credit cards to buy apps, it can take up to 2-3 days for a payment to go through. Also, some payments never go through!
Currency conversions. Apple's "Financial Reports" use Apple's own currency rates, whereas App Annie always uses today's exchange rate.
Remember that the last two points above have a certain degree of unpredictability, which makes the figures we get from Apple's "Sales and Trends" slightly different from the figures in Apple's "Financial Reports".

How can I limit App Annie's access to my iTunes Connect account?
Although we promise to do nothing with your account other than to grab reports, you may want to take extra steps to protect the sensitive information and app management functions found in your Account.
You can do this by setting up a separate iTunes Connect account and assigning it a specific role using your primary account. The only role App Annie needs is the sales role, which grants access to sales/trend reports and limits access to your account.
How can I remove my iTunes Connect account?
You can remove your iTunes Connect account at the account page.
What are the time periods used for comparisons in the daily report?
All sales figures are compared to same day in the previous week, and ranks are compared to the previous day.
Are ranks in the daily email report for the full previous day?
The ranks in the email reports use the most current set of rank data, so if you receive a report on Monday morning the ranks are from Monday as well.
Are in-app purchases included in downloads?
No, we don't include in-app purchases in downloads, although they are included in the revenue figures.
Why do I need to link both my Developer Console (Android Market) account and my Google Checkout accounts?
These accounts each provide different sets of information. The Developer Console provides the daily download numbers for each application but does not provide any sales data nor proper breakdown by country, so it is impossible to provide accurate sales data from that source. Google Checkout provides sales (and by extension download) figures for paid apps, but nothing about free apps.
To summarize: If you have only linked your Developer Console you miss the sales data. If you link both accounts, downloads and sales data will be gathered for all applications.
How can I get my Merchant ID and Merchant Key?
The Merchant ID and Merchant Key pair is available to "classic" Google Checkout merchants who are based in the US or in the UK. After login to Google checkout website you can find your ID and Key in the integration tab.
Android-only merchants do not have access to the Merchant Key (thus cannot use the Google Checkout source currently).
We are working on a solution that allows getting all the sales data for any Google Checkout account.
I can't see any data in my Android dashboard
When linking your account for the first time it may take up to 24 hours to populate your dashboard. If you don't see any data after 24 hours (and there are no account status error messages displayed at the top right of the dashboard) send us an email to support@appannie.com and we will investigate.
Your Android accounts can show different statuses at the top right of the dashboard. Below is the explanation for each of them.
Missing: Your account is missing. Please click here to register it. Your Developer Console account is required (download stats) but your Checkout account is not mandatory (sales stats).
Invalid credentials: Either the user name or the password is incorrect. You should log in manually to Google and make sure they are correct. Once done update your account information in the Android section of your account page.
Google captcha required: Google presented a CAPTCHA when we tried to log in on your behalf. If your account shows this status please contact us at support@appannie.com and we will figure out the problem.
Google verification required: Google presented a security question when we tried to log in on your behalf. We were not able to synchronize your data and will stop trying for the time being. We are currently working on a safe and generic solution for this case.
Error: Your account is in error, please contact us at support@appannie.com and we will figure out the problem.
